Summer Wedding Planning

Posted on

Summer is the season of love and weddings, which means planning, planning, and more planning! If you are going to take a trip down the aisle, the last few months of the planning process are fundamental to your big day. Use this recommended wedding timeline to help make sure your wedding day goes as smooth as possible:

3-4 Months Before

  • Send wedding invitations. Check out this great chart if you need help knowing who you should invite
  • Remind bridesmaids to schedule dress alterations
  • Schedule hair and makeup trials
  • Create wedding day schedule
    • Tip: Send your schedule to your vendors, including: caterers, photographers and both the wedding parties
  • Buy wedding shoes. You will want to have them early enough so you can bring them to your dress fittings and have enough time to break them in
    • Tip: consider buying shoes a half size larger than normal so they feel great at the end of the day
  • Set up a account. It’s a great app to help your wedding planning process.
  • Wedding Dress fitting
  • Tip: refer to this handy list of Do’s and Don’ts to make sure everything is perfect

2 Months Before

  • Get crafting! Start your DIY projects now if you haven’t already. You won’t want to get caught up at the last second with these little details.
  • Make your seating chart. Schedule the final dress fitting
  • Beauty prep:
    • Trial hair and makeup
    • Tip: bring a few different options of photos you like to share with your stylist and makeup artist
    • Facial
    • Teeth whitening
    • Schedule waxing and final hair / makeup appointments
  • Bachelorette party
  • Apply for marriage license

1-2 Weeks Before

  • Waxing (one week before is best)
  • Hair cut / color
  • Leave the day-of just for styling and plan to have your hair cut and colored at least 1-2 weeks before
  • Check in with the wedding party about the schedule
  • Final guest list to the caterer
  • Engagement rings cleaned
  • Relax! Wedding planning can get stressful, so make time to spend with your fiancé outside of wedding prep
