Spring 2015 Beauty Trend Watch

Posted on

Spring is all about new and fresh, so there’s no better time than sharing some fresh beauty trends straight from the runway. From classic to fun and flirty, we hope these trends will inspire you this Spring to try something new to go with that perfect dress. And remember, the day is in the details.

HAIR

The Look: Wet, Tropical Hair

Get the super-glossy look hairstylist Odile Gilbert creates. According to harpersbazaar.com, after running Kerastase gel through the hair, Gilbert took two small sections from above each ear, twisted them and tied them in a knot at the back of the head. Then she made a loop and tied them into another knot before securing it with elastic.

The Look: The Textured Lob

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s textured layers parting on the side, falling gently at the shoulders are the look of the season says elle.com. Apply a serum before drying hair then curl the mid-lengths of your hair keeping the roots and ends flat. Complete the look by using your fingers to comb through the waves.

The Look: Sleek, Smooth Hair

Bathing suit season may be around the corner, but beachy waves have been replaced by super-sleek, shiny smooth style. For the ultimate glass-like finish, do what Orlando Pita did: lightly mist a kabuki makeup brush with hairspray and glide it across the hair to minimize flyaways and fine hair. To much product can look chunky and take away from this highly elegant, glamorous look.

MAKEUP

The Look: Sheer Purple Eyes

According to Instyle.com, models skipped the intense noir liner for a sheer purple eye and a few coats of mascara. Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni recommends that just like with a smoky eye, stick to the “less is more” mantra as you build up the color. Restrict your liner to the lower waterline only.

The Look: Long Lashes and Graphic White Eyeliner

For a ‘60s-inspired eye, makeup artist Grace Lee applied false eyelashes to the top AND bottom lashes, followed by several coats of lengthening mascara says harpersbazaar.com. Lee uses white eyeliner instead of black and wings the inner and outer corners slightly for radiance and so the look doesn’t feel too heavy.

NAILS

The Look: Elegant Embellishment

This Spring go for glamour without going over the top! This simply fabulous look, created by Katie Jane Hughes with butter LONDON, used a neutral base with a diamond bead for that extra somethin’ somethin’.

The Look: Negative-Space Manicure

One of Glamour.com’s favorite nail looks is the negative-space manicure. Paint just the half-moon of the nail with a pastel color just like Essie manicurists did. Then use any bright or dark color to paint the other part of your nail.

From wet, tropical hair to purple eyes and negative-space manicures, let these Spring trends complete the look for your next big event.
